The Stockton Metropolitan Airport Terminal Hold Room Remodel project reconstructed and expanded the airport’s outdated existing passenger hold room area.  The new hold room more than doubled seating for travelers with accommodations for 367 individuals.  Almost 3,000 square feet of existing building space was renovated and another 6,300 square feet of modernized infrastructure was added.  Kjeldsen, Sinnock & Neudeck, Inc. (KSN) provided all civil engineering and surveying services for the project.  The services included all surveying and topographic mapping for the design basis of the project.  Civil design services included preparing grading, drainage, and utility plans; erosion control plans; preparing the Storm Water Quality calculations; and providing full construction phase support services. 

The new hold room offers opportunities for future expansion of airline service.  The project was funded nearly entirely by a $3 million Federal Aviation Administration grant with only 5% of the cost coming from the local agency.

Construction started in October 2010 and was completed in May 2011.
