The Alex and Jeri Vereschagin Alumni House Project, centrally located within the University of the Pacific (UOP) campus, consists of the design and construction of a 9,500 square foot, two story building. This Project will comply with UOP’s policy that all new buildings meet LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). Kjeldsen, Sinnock & Neudeck, Inc. (KSN), serving as the civil engineering consultant to LDA Partners LLP (LDA), provided the on-site civil improvement plans, specifications, and cost estimates including coordination with local utility providers for domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and fire protection services. The civil engineering scope for this project included coordinated layout control, on-site wet utility design, drainage design features, grading design, paving requirements, and sidewalks. Storm water quality requirements were met through the use of storm infiltration trenches and an innovative storm water detention and treatment pond which was custom designed using a combination of selected design recommendations from the City of Stockton’s current storm water quality design manual. KSN also performed field surveys to supplement existing topographic information to aid in the design of on-site improvements.
