Wallace Weir Fish Rescue Facility

Reclamation District 108

Reclamation District 108 (RD 108) constructed a permanent weir structure with operable dams and a fish barrier within the Yolo Bypass on behalf for the California Department of Water Resources. RD 108 selected KSN to lead the project planning, design and implementation. KSN provided project management, grant administration, engineering design, and construction management and inspection for the project. The project consists of constructing a permanent concrete weir structure with a fish barrier and a California Department of Fish and Wildlife operated fish collection rescue. Upon completion of the design, KSN began overseeing all aspects of construction ensuring that construction was executed in accordance with the approved designs and specifications, and regulatory permit requirements. This $16M project was conceived, designed, permitted, and brought to construction in just eight months. KSN was the project manager for this project, and based upon its success, DWR staff have begun adopting KSN’s project management approach for their own projects.
